La famiglia originaria di Val di Fiemme ha per capostipite Giovanni Pietro, che ebbe due figli: Giovanni gaspare e Giovanni Francesco. Fra i discendenti di quest'ultimo figura Carlo Giuseppe (nato 1761, defunto 1839), vescovo di Pasavia, e Benedetto Felice (nato 1807, defunto 1839), vescovo di Trento, nonchè Carlo Antonio (nato 1806, defunto 1871), poeta. A questo ramo appartiene pure Vittorio (nato 1844, defunto 1927), commendatore della Corona d'Italia, che fu ardente patriota e guidò il partito liberale trentino dopo le dimissioni dell'abate G.B. a Prato. Dall'altro ramo, originato da Giovanni Gaspare, discende Francesco Felice (nato 1765, defunto 1857), commissario bavarese del Circolo all'Adige, consigliere di prefettura del Dipartimento dell'Alto Adige e capitano circolare di Rovereto, e Giovanni Ernesto (nato 1804, defunto 1844), da cui Giulio Felice che sposò Filomena c.ssa Spaur e che il 10 aprile 1899 ebbe il titolo di barone del S.R.I. col predicato di Reichenfels, riconosciuto con
