Diese Familie hat ihren Ursprung in S. Michele d'Asti, von wo aus Giambattista (verstorbene Villanova d'Asti, 6. Mai 1815), aus Gio. Antonio, der nach Turin kam und in schwierigen Zeiten die Herzöge beherbergte von Aosta am 3. Juni 1800. Aus seiner zweiten Ehe mit Giovanna, vom Arzt Carlo Galletti, hatte er Carlo und Niccolò, von denen die Comital-Linie stammt. Carlo (geb. Villanova d'Asti, 2. August 1800, verstorben in Turin, 27. Februar 1831), Rechtsanwalt, hatte von seiner Hochzeit (1825) mit Alessandra den Ritter Luigi Roero di Cortanze, Luigi und Carlotta, der den Grafen Luigi Federico Moenabrea heiratete , Marquis von Valdora, Ritter der SS. Annunziata. Luigi (geb. Villanova d'Asti, 23. Oktober 1827, verstorben in Turin, 11. Mai 1895), der Artillerieoffizier war und die Feldzüge von 1848 und 1949 durchführte, erhielt am 14. Mai 1868 den Titel eines Adligen von Valgoria. Am 13. Juni 1873 (PP. 27. Juli) erhielt er ein Wappen
