Alte deutsche Familie, genannt Rietsch oder Riesch, von klarer und angestammter Tugend, die sich über die Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Europas und vor allem in Frankreich verbreitet hat, wo sich zwischen dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert die auffälligsten Siedlungen befinden vor allem in einer kalvinistischen Umgebung. Der Ursprung dieser Erkenntnis, gelinde gesagt der maßgeblichen Ahnenforscher, sollte in einer Modifikation des heute in Sachsen gebräuchlichen Toponyms Rietschen und wahrscheinlich des Geburtsortes eines heute unbekannten Vorfahren gesucht werden. Auf jeden Fall gehörte diese Familie nach dem, was uns überliefert wurde, dem Adel "Briefadel" (Brief "Brief des Adels") oder den vom Monarchen mit Patentbriefen geschaffenen Titeln an, eine Mode, die, beeinflusst von der französischen Praxis, in eingeführt wurde Deutschland unter Kaiser Karl IV. (Reg. 1346-1378). Darüber hinaus zeugte der klare Adel der Familie durch die Anwesenheit ihres Wappenschilds in dem wertvollen Werk "L'Armorial General" von JB Rietstap. Inquartato; al primo e al quarto di verde alle tre bande d'oro, al secondo d'oro alle due stelle di nero, al terzo d'oro ai due gigli di nero; sul tutto d'argento al leone di rosso movente dalla punta coronato d'oro tenente nella zampa destra una stella del medesimo. Quattro elmi coronati. Cimieri: 1° una stella di nero con svolazzi d'oro e di nero; 2° un aquila di nero beccata, membrata e coronata d'oro con svolazzi d'oro e di verde; 3° il leone dello scudetto con svolazzi d'argento e di rosso; 4° un giglio di nero con svolazzi d'oro e di nero. Supporti: due liocorni d'argento con la testa rivolta.
