Família alemã antiga, chamada Rietsch ou Riesch, de virtude clara e ancestral, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Europa e, principalmente, na França, onde os assentamentos mais visíveis são encontrados entre os séculos XVI e XVII. , especialmente em um ambiente calvinista. A origem dessa cognominação, para dizer o mínimo de genealogistas competentes, deve ser procurada em uma modificação do topônimo Rietschen, hoje comum na Saxônia, e, provavelmente, o berço de um progenitor hoje desconhecido. De qualquer forma, de acordo com o que nos é transmitido, essa família pertencia à nobreza "Briefadel" (letra "carta da nobreza"), ou títulos criados pelo monarca com letras de patente, uma moda que, influenciada pela prática francesa, foi introduzida em Alemanha sob o imperador Carlos IV (r. 1346-1378). Inquartato; al primo e al quarto di verde alle tre bande d'oro, al secondo d'oro alle due stelle di nero, al terzo d'oro ai due gigli di nero; sul tutto d'argento al leone di rosso movente dalla punta coronato d'oro tenente nella zampa destra una stella del medesimo. Quattro elmi coronati. Cimieri: 1° una stella di nero con svolazzi d'oro e di nero; 2° un aquila di nero beccata, membrata e coronata d'oro con svolazzi d'oro e di verde; 3° il leone dello scudetto con svolazzi d'argento e di rosso; 4° un giglio di nero con svolazzi d'oro e di nero.
