Die frühesten Erinnerungen an diese Familie gehen auf das 12. Jahrhundert zurück und zu dieser Zeit hieß sie Rido oder del Rido, ein Name, der aus einem kleinen Land in der Gegend von Paduan stammte, auf dem sie herrschte. Ein Nicolò gründete 1391 ein College für arme Studenten, eine Institution, die bis heute lebte. Antonio war Hauptmann der Milizen der Kirche und Kastellan von Castel Sant'Angelo unter den Päpsten Martino V, Nicolò V und Eugenio IV. 1626 wurde es unter den Adligen bei der Reform des Konzils von Padua und vom Senat von Venetien mit dem Titel Comitale ausgezeichnet. Es wurde am 26. Dezember 1818 als edel bestätigt. Die Republik Genua wollte es auch mit der genuesischen Staatsbürgerschaft und dem Adel in der Person von Antonio da R. und seinen Nachkommen verbinden. Die ersten Ämter der Gemeinde wurden zu jeder Zeit von ihr unterstützt, und viele ihrer Mitglieder waren Mitglieder
