Ancienne et très noble famille toscane de Pise appelée Ripafratta ou de Ripafratta répartie, au fil des siècles, dans différentes régions d'Italie. L'origine de cet ancien nom dérive de la localité homonyme du territoire pisan, probablement le lieu d'origine de l'ancêtre. Les auteurs de la noblesse florentine, dont Ademollo Andrea et Marietta de 'Ricci, qui dans leur ouvrage nous ont été transmis en 1845 "Florence au moment du siège. Récit historique avec notes généalogiques sur les familles florentines, corrections et ajouts, par Cavalier Luigi Passerini ", imprimé à Florence, Chiari en 1845, assure que cette famille est originaire des terres de Pise. Cette famille, comme le raconte Gamurrini dans l'Histoire généalogique des familles nobles toscanes et ombro, imprimée à Florence par Sanesi en 1641 dans le volume 6, trouve ses origines dès le XIVe siècle.
