Antichissima e nobilissima famiglia di Iesi, che trae le sue origini ed il nome dal Castello di Ripe, piccolo paese tra Iesi e Osimo, e di cui fu signora. Nel 1201 Iesi si impadronì del Castello, ma nel 1208 la famiglia lo riebbe e si mise sotto la protezione di Osimo; in famiglia si conserva copia dei patti di tale alleanza difensiva contro Iesi. Riconosce quale suo capostipite un certo Gozo, vivente nel 1250 e signore di detto Castello. Egli nel 1254 trasportò la sua famiglia in Iesi cedendo alla città tutti i suoi diritti feudali su Ripe, e data la sua nobiltà fu subito aggregato, tra le nobili famiglie e ricoprì le più alte cariche civiche. Molti ed illustri personaggi dette questa famiglia alla Patria. Sono da ricordare: Floriano, di Gozo, che dal 1295 al 1297 fu sindaco in Iesi; Matteo, di Ugolino, di Gozo (1924), che è chiamato
