Ancient and noble family of Iesi, which draws its origins and name from the Castle of Ripe, a small town between Iesi and Osimo, and of which she was a lady. In 1201 Iesi took possession of the Castle, but in 1208 the family recovered it and placed itself under the protection of Osimo; a copy of the pacts of this defensive alliance against Iesi is kept in the family. He recognizes as his progenitor a certain Gozo, living in 1250 and lord of said Castle. In 1254 he transported his family to Iesi giving to the city all his feudal rights on Ripe, and given his nobility he was immediately aggregated, among the noble families and held the highest civic positions. Many illustrious people gave this family to the homeland. To remember: Floriano, from Gozo, who from 1295 to 1297 was mayor in Iesi; Matteo, from Ugolino, from Gozo
