Questa famiglia deriva da un Mattia, marito di Kronenburg presso Magonza, già frate zoccolante, il quale convertitosi al lutarenesimo (nel 1510 andò con Lutero a Roma), divenne pastore a Francoforte sul Meno e prese moglie. Da lui discese una serie di cinque generazioni di pastori luterani, tutti esercitanti il loro ministero in quella città. Giovanni Cristoforo (nato a Francoforte nel 1782, defunto 1838), fu elevato alla nobiltà ungherese col predicato di Zahony con diploma Vienna 10 maggio 1830. Da lui e dalle sue donne Maria Bressiack e Amalia Hofmann nacquerio 14 figli, dei quali: Enrico (nato Trieste 1815, defunto Gorizia 1903), ebbe il titolo di barone con rescritto Vienna 15 dicembre 1875 (linea estinta colle figle Emma, nata Trieste 1847, moglie del conte Antonio Nugent, e Carolina, nata a Trieste 1850, moglie del conte Alfredo Coronini di Gorizia); Giulio Ettore (nato 1816, defunto Gorizia 1878) ebbe il titolo di cavaliere
