Antica famiglia, che godette nobiltà in Catania, Caltagirone, ecc. Un Filippo, sotto re Federico III, fu abate di S. Maria di Licodia e di S. Nicolò de Arena; un Pietro fu senatore di Catania nel 1413-14,15-16, 19-20, e fu capitano di giustizia nella stessa città nel 1417-18; un Luigi tenne quest'ultima carica nel 1415-16 e quella di patrizio nel 1429-30; un Guglielmo fu patrizio di Catania nel 1426-27, un Goffredo, milite, dottore in leggi, maestro razionale e giudice della Gran Corte dei Conti, possedette il feudo Bidani, del quale ottenne conferma il 14 febbraio 1446, le terre della Chiesa e di Volta della Monaca, che gli vennero confermate il 10 settembre 1449; un Pietro, milite, catanese, ebbe investitura dei feudi di Bidani e di S. Giacomo il 10 dic. 1464 e fu capitano di giustizia in Caltagirone nel 1465-66; un Giovanni fu capitano di giustizia in Catania negli anni
