Orobono Oroboni fu inviato ad incontrare la figlia del Duca di Firenze promessa sposa al duca Ercole II Estense; Ercole, figlio di Orobono, servì lo stesso duca nella guerra d'Ungheria con armi e cavalli propri. Giambattista Oroboni il 22 ott. 1663 ebbe dal Duca di Parma l'investitura della contea di Silanogrande; ed il conte Camillo venne dal governo pontificio aggregato alle 27 nobili famiglie di perpetuo Consiglio. Altro ramo. Famiglia ghibellina, di cui fu capo-stipite un Rolando che nel 1450 Orsatto Giustiniani provveditore veneto fece deportare a Vicenza. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal secolo XVI. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni,
