Famiglia algherese le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVI. I Rocamarti furono ammessi allo stamento militare nel 1558 durante il parlamento Madrigal; nel 1570 un Agostino, regidor della baronia di Posada, acquistò la baronia di Monteleone dai Carrillo. Nel 1573 fu ammesso allo stamento militare durante il parlamento Coloma. I suoi discendenti parteciparono anche a tutti gli altri parlamenti fino al 1678. I Rocamarti ricoprirono uffici pubblici ad Alghero e nel 1630 un Francesco ebbe la baronia elevata in contea. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal secolo XVII e, dopo una lunga lite, il feudo di Monteleone fu dato ai Brunengo. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato
