Bonne bourgeoisie de Chomelix, originaire du Gévaudan. Filiation depuis Dominique, notaire royal à Sinzelles paroisse de Fontanes (diocèse de Mende), marié à Clauda André. Leur fils, Charles, greffier du bailliage de Chomelix s'y établit vers 1665 par alliance avec Antoinette Faure, d'une ancienne famille de ce lieu. On rencontre aussi: des notaires royaux et commissaires à terriers; des baillis et châtelains de Chomelix, du Brignon près Craponne et de Duret; un receveur du marquisat d'Allègre; un secrétaire de M. de Mandelot, gouverneur du Lyonnais (1569); une abbesse des clarisses de Montbrison mort en 1796. Divisée vers 1745, en deux branches : l'une établie a Chomelix et a Vorey, l'autre qui a fourni de nombreux notaires royaux, est encore représentée de nos jours à Paris, à Meudon et au château de Fiougoux près de La Chaise-Dieu.
