Passata in Calabria, ha posseduto fin dallo scorcio del cinquecento il feudo nobile di Miglione e trovasi ascritta al registro delle famiglie feudatarie da oltre ducento anni. Giovan Francesco, uomo dotto e poeta, occupò alte cariche amministrative nella provincia di Regio Calabria. Luigi, suo figlio, fu maggiordomo di settimana del re di Napoli e pari del Regno nel 1848, gran cordone dell'Ordine di Francesco I e commendatore dell'Ordine di S. Gregorio Magno. Giovan Francesco, figlio di Luigi, gentiluomo di camera di S.M. Siciliana, cavaliere costantiniano, commendatore di S. Gregorio Magno, avo dell'attuale rappresentante della famiglia, nato a Polistena il 6 agosto 1838, defunto in Napoli il 26 aprile 1913, sposato il 6 luglio 1867 Maria Giuseppa Sanseverino (nata 17 aprile 1848, defunta 18 settembre 1893), figliola di Luigi principe di Bisignano e della principessa Giulia
