En el siglo XIII, Raffaele, con el privilegio obtenido de la Municipalidad de Génova, comenzó a cultivar caña de azúcar en Diano. Giacomo era un obispo muy alto de Sagona en el siglo XV, y después de él, la familia fue investida en feudo por la cantina episcopal de Albenga con los bienes y el commenda de S. Siro.
