Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, de la paroisse de Trans, dit être de franc de fouages, à la réformation de 1427 et a apparu lettres d'anoblissement; Jean, conseiller du duc, époux d'Isabeau Pivert, a été anobli et se gouverne noblement à la réformation de 1478; Gilles, seigneur du Cléyo, fils des précédents, vivant en 1513, épouse Raoulette le Charpentier, dont: Jean, sénéchal de Ploërmel en 1560, procureur-général en 1581, auteurs de seigneurs du Cléyo, de Villeneuve et de Kervéno, qui ont produit deux présidents à mortier et plusieurs conseillers au parlement depuis 1603; Pierre, auteur des seigneurs du Crévy, qui ont produit un gouverneur de Malestroit en 1613, un évêque du Mans de 1712 à 1723 et une abbesse de Kerlot en 1738. La branche du Crévy fondue en 1744 dans Brilhac.
