The first memories of this ancient Ternernate family date back to 1370, in which years Giovanni Giovanni Troja lived, father of Urbano and Ventura: Giovanni was a castellan of Monte Migiano in 1411 and Ventura was the commander of the Guelfi castle. Four priors came out of this family: Ventura (1434), Angelo (1477), Nicola (1594) and other Nicola (1639-1649); five gonfaloniers: Vittorio (1578), Alessandro (1614), Rojo (several times in the second half of the XVII century), other Vittorio (1683) and Filippo (1797). Among the men who distinguished themselves deserve particular mention a Nicola, who served as a standard bearer in the French armies and returned home was appointed captain, and a Matteo, who served the Republic of Venice as captain of the Halberdlers. The family is registered in the Official Italian Noble List with the title of nobleman of Città di Castello (mf.).
