Esta familia es originaria de Lusignano, una aldea de Albenga. En el siglo XVII, Andrea da Lusignano (diciembre de 1696) tuvo un hijo, Giovanni Antonio, quien a su vez fue padre de tres hijos: Giacomo Maria, Vincenzo Maria y Andrea. Cuales tres hermanos son jambas de las tres ramas que viven hoy. Desde el primero a través de Gio Antonio (que sirvió en el ejército de los duques de Milán y fue declarado miembro de la noble orden con un diploma de Albenga el 13 de enero de 1774), ayudante de campo de Luigi y secretario del general Massena, (dic. 1833) , Antonio, Luigi (con informe del 15 de septiembre de 1885 del Albergo Ricci adscrito al propio hotel y hermano de Gerolamo, que llevó a cabo las campañas ítalo-austríaca (1848-49) y Crimea (1855)), dic. a vm inspector general de 'artillería, senador del Reino (1892), dic. 1899), descienden cinco hermanos
