Ancient and noble Apulian family, originally from the city of Lecce, of clear and ancestral virtue, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The most remote trace relating to this family refers to the Roman tribune Publius Servilius Rullus (60 BC). In any case, the clear nobility of the Rollo family in Puglia is confirmed by its presence in the valuable manuscript work "Delle Famiglie Nobili Leccesi" by the historian FA De Giorgi (1625). The historically documented progenitor of this family is identified in Lupo Rollo (1510-1572) who, for personal merits, obtained the titles of Golden Knight and Palatine Count, by diploma of the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and King of Spain Charles V, a Castelnuovo di Napoli on 7 March 1536.
