The Rollo nobles are originally from the city of Lecce, a family of clear and ancestral virtue which over the centuries has spread to various regions of Italy. The most remote historical trace of a Rollo dates back to the Romanesque period to Publius Servilius Rullus, a tribune who lived around 60 BC. Instead, analyzing the nobility of the Rollos in the Leccese area, the first nobil homo is identified in Lupo Rollo (1510-1562) ennobled by the emperor of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Habsburg in 1536 with the title of Count Palatine and Golden Knight. Coming in more recent times, we denote the notable living subjects who still support this noble surname and represent its lineage, the Noble Cavalier Alessandro Rollo (December 11, 1986) of Leccese origins, is recognized with the title of Count of the Lupa and holds the nobility of the Barons of Colosimi, currently the ownership of this barony is in the possession of the father, the noble Enrico Rollo (July 28, 1953), inherited in turn after the departure of the late Salvatore Rollo (October 2, 1919). All of this denotes that such ancient surnames and their relative families, without a doubt, have rendered and render decorum to the cities that have welcomed them.
