Sehr alte friaulische Familie aus Arba, die in der ersten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts nach Spilimbergo zog, wo sie dank der liberalen Berufe und öffentlichen Jobs, denen sich einige ihrer Mitglieder widmeten, eine auffällige Position unter den bemerkenswerten Familien erlangten Der Seite. Marcantonio Romano, von der qu. Giovanni (geb. 1595), Jurist, verlegte seinen Wohnsitz nach Udine, wo er 1635 die edle Marzia heiratete, die Tochter von Marcantonio der Herren von Manzano, Witwe im ersten Gelübde des edlen Antonio de Cottis von Cividale. und in Sekunden des edlen Francesco della Porta. Mit dieser Ehe betrat Romano riesige Besitztümer des Dorfes Manzano, die noch immer in Familienbesitz sind. 1629 beantragte Dr. Marcantonio die Mitgliedschaft im Adelsrat von Udine, der ihm durch Beschluss vom 28.
