Distinta famiglia di Ferrara. Il dottor Grazio fu insigne giureconsulto e segretario delle Università di Ferrara. Nella magistratura della sua città diventà prima presidente del Tribunale; poi creato conte dal re di Sardegna il 26 settembre 1795, e confermato il 20 ottobre 1817 e riconosciuto dalla Segretaria di Stato di Sua Santità il 12 aprile 1829. Essendosi molto distinto sotto il governo napoleonico, venne creato barone del Regno Italico da Napoleone. Anche il di lui figlio, conte Vincenzo, si distinse assai pei suoi meriti; fu anziano del Comune e consigliere di Stato. Questa famiglia ebbe alleanza colle più cospicue famiglie ferraresi, i quali i Zacco, Avogli Trotti, Canonici, Gnoli ed altri. La famiglia è iscritta nel Libro d'Oro della Nobiltà Italiano e nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobile Italiano col titolo di conte (mpr.) in persona di: Nicola, di Grazio, di Nicola. Partito: a destra, semi partito e troncato; nel primo d'argento alla croce di rosso accantonata da quattro teste di moro poste di profilo e bendate d'argento (Sardegna); nel secondo d'oro all'aquila di nero col volo abbassato (Savoia antica); nel terzo d'azzurro alla fascia d'argento accompagnata in capo da tre stelle di 6 raggi d'oro male ordinate ed in punta da un monte di tre cime di verde (Ronchi); a sinistra d'azzurro al braccio destro, vestito di rosso, movente dal lato sinistro e tenente con la mano di carnagione un ramo con tre gigli fogliati e gambuti al naturale, col capo d'azzurro caricato di due gigli frammezzati da una palma posta in palo, il tutto d'oro (Braccioli).
