Famiglia originaria di Piacenza. Il duca di Savoia con privilegio del 23 febbraio 1675 concesse il titolo di conte a Cesare ed ai discendenti maschi primogeniti. Cesare, morì il 6 agosto 1680. Ebbe antenati illustri, fra cui un Oberto, podestà di Milano nel 1252; un Gherardo, iscritto nell'Albo dei dottori e giudici di Piacenza nel 1230, pretore di Bobbio; Giandomenico, referendario ducale in Cremona, che contribuì a fondarvi un monastero di agostiniane, in cui entrarono tre sue figlie. Appartennero alla famiglia: monsignor Alessandro, colto prelato, vescovo di Bobbio, poi nel 1700 di Borgo S. Donnino, insigne diplomatico, che primo contribuì ad avviare nella diplomazia il cardinale. Alberoni; il canonico Giovanni, che riscattò la famosa Tavola Traiana, trovata negli scavi di Velleia. La famiglia si spegne in monsignore Luca, canonico della cattedrale di Piacenza ed abate commendatario del SS. Salvatore.
