Noble family established in Brittany for several centuries which counts among its members the lords of Estuer (parish of Bréhant-Loudéac) and Epine-Guen (parish of Ploufragan). Brittany has long been a more or less autonomous duchy, even if its dukes in the 14th and 15th centuries form a branch of the royal house of France which died with the famous Duchess Anne. She successively married Charles VIII in 1491 and Louis XII in 1499. From this second union was born a daughter, Queen Claude, whose marriage with François I would definitively seal the reunion of Brittany with France, in respect of its franchises . Among the most prominent figures of this family is Dondel, wife in 1513, Louise, lady of Estuer.
