La famiglia è ascritta nel Libro d'Oro della Nobiltà Italiana e nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano col titolo di marchese (maschio primogenito), in persona di Carlo Enrico, di Antonio e donna Stefania Starrabba dei principi di Giardinelli, sposato 4 marzo 1894 nobile Antonia Lanza dei principi di Mirto, deceduto 26 agosto 1919. Tra i membri della famiglia ricordiamo Orazio, n. 18 gennaio 1865, morto luglio 1928, sposato nobile Angelica Siciliani dei marchesi di Rende. Figli di Orazio: Antonio e Stefania. Altro ramo. Col 20 Giugno 1915 fu concesso ad Antonio Forcella il titolo di marchese.
