Dos ramas de los R. catalanes gozaron de gran notoriedad. Una radicó en la ciudad de Barcelona, y otra en la francesa de Perpiñán. En mediados del siglo XV pertenecían a la famila R. de Valencia, mosén Miguel Juan de R., señor de Baimux, lugar enclavado en el término de Gandía y que rentaba mil trescientos ducados, y Onofre de R., señor de Mixera, lugar del término de la villa de Palma de Gandía. Los R. de las casas de Barcelona y Perpinyá extendieron bastante el apellido por Cataluña. Uno de este linaje era conseller en Barcelona en 1364 y diputado en 1413, y Galcerán R., comendador de Barbens, en la Orden de San Juan, en 1556. De la casa de R., de Perpinyá, procedió Juan R., abogado fiscal, marido de doña Leonor Juan. Otra casa hubo en las Olives (Gerona) y fue su principal representante el general Antonio R.
