Ancient and very noble Catalan house, formerly called "Rosafius", with its main residence in Barcelona and settlements also in Gerona, which has spread over the centuries in various European regions and, mainly, in Italy. Among the first known figures there is an Ines Rosafio who, according to what is reported in the "Liber maiolichinus", was the wife of Raimondo Berengario III, Count of Barcelona. In the centuries that followed, the members of the Rosafio family placed themselves in the faithful service of the Aragonese and were among the protagonists of the reconquista. Above all, one remembers a Sancho Rosafio who helped King James I of Aragon in the conquest of Alpuente and Valencia, at the dawn of the tenth third century.
