Con patenti del 20 giugno 1647, la reggente Maria Cristina di Francia, duchessa di Savoia, dichiarava di confermare ad Agostino Rosanno, notaio, procuratore e podestà del marchesato di Pollone, l'uso di un particolare stemma gentilizio, ivi descritto. Il diploma afferma che esso, Agostino, e "il fu Giovanni, suo bisavo, Notaro Imperiale, e tutti gli altri suoi predecessori, hanno sempre avuto onoratamente et usato per loro arma lo stemma anzidetto". Risalire da Agostino al bisavolo suo Giovanni, significa riportare la prova del possesso dell'arma gentilizio al oltre un secolo prima. Con patenti del 18 settembre 1671, Raffaele, figlio di Agostino, veniva investito "della metà dei beni e ragioni feudali" di Viancino. Tali beni e ragioni feudali hanno una lunga storia non ingloriosa, consacrata da re Carlo Emanuele III nel preambolo delle sue patenti, del 4 gennaio 1740.
