Assai antica ed illustre famiglia lombarda, la quale fu feudataria della Pieve di Rosate, tanto che, in tempi remoti, era conociuta come "De Rosate", su concessione dell'Arcivescovo Arimberto d'Intimiano, tra il 1018 ed il 1031. I de Rosate, erano un ramo della potente famiglia dei signori de Besate di origine longobarda e con la investitura ad Anselmo II a "comes capitaneus plebis Rosate" assursero nella classe dei capitanei e quindi divennero vassalli dell'Arcivescovo di Milano. Il Magister Bartolomeus Johannis Rosati giunse agli inizi del 1400 a Fermo (AP) da lui nacque Ser Giannino, padre di ser Giacomo Rosati trasferito a Montalto Marche (AP) da cui nacquero: a) Ser Giannino o Giovanni, podestà di Monteprandone nel 1483 da cui i conti Rosati di Monteprandone, (patrizi ascolani e di Fermo, nobili di Montalto e signori di Villa Casaregnano che il 29 luglio 1780 ottennnero con Beneplacito Pontificio in enfiteusi Pian di
