Nel secolo XV troviamo una famiglia in Trapani, nella quale città un Giacomo tenne la carica di senatore negli anni 1436 - 1437, 1447 - 1448. Non sappiamo se sia appartenuto a detta famiglia quel Salvatore Rosentino che, a 30 luglio 1786, ottenne il titolo di barone di Rondè, titolo che, con D.M. 6 febbraio 1899, venne riconosciuto in persona di Giuseppe Rosentino e Schininà, di Vittorino, di Salvatore. Motto della famiglia: Omnia vincit amor. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famigia della Calabria. Altro ramo. Famiglia originaria di Sorrento, ricevuta nel S. M. Ordine di Malta il 23 settembre 1725 con Giuseppe Maria dei Marchese di Aieta, di Sorrento, di minore età. Antica feudataria, nel 1641 del titolo di marchese di Aieta; titolo passato, per successione femminile alla famiglia de Miro dei duchi di Collecorvino, per il matrimonio di Maria Giuseppa, di Domenico, marchese di Aieta, con Innocenzo de Miro,
