Capostipite di questa nobile famiglia fu Aresmino, figlio di Pietro degli A. di Val Brembana nel Bergamasco. Gusmero, uno dei suoi figli, propagò la discendenza in Rovereto, divisa poi in varie famiglie. Gusmero II militò sotto Carlo V alla espugnazione di Parma; Pietro si distinse combattendo nelle guerre di Fiandra; Panfilo, figlio di Gusmero II, ottenne dall'Imper. Massimiliano II, per sè e i successori diretti e collaterali, diploma di nobiltà. Leopoldo II riconfermò la nobiltà con diploma 29 maggio 1672. Nicolò, di Francesco, fu commissario del Castello di Rovereto, giusdicente della Valle Lagarina pei Conti di Liectenstein, uno dei provveditori della città e cancelliere del Magistrato delle Fiere di Bolzano: Carlo, istoriografo di bella fama, morto in Milano nel 1827; ed il celebre Antonio, filosofo e fondatore dei Rosminiani, morto nel 1855.
