Ancient and noble family. Giuseppe Maria (born in Saint Jean de-Maurienne 19 June 1827, died in Sant'Alban 23 February 1906) of Emanuele was created baron of motu proprio on 14 March 1880 with the granting of a coat of arms on 2 May 1880 and Patents 20 May 1880. He was major general (1875), then lieutenant general (1895) and awarded a silver medal in the campaign of 1848.
