Ancienne et très noble famille espagnole, connue sous le nom de Rotolo ou Rotulo, qui est passée résider en Sicile, s'installant dans les territoires adjacents à la ville d'Aragon. Une branche de la famille s'est également épanouie en France, puisqu'il y a des souvenirs de deux baronnets provençaux, à savoir Alfonso et Carmelo Rotolo.
