Ancient and noble family from Genoa, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, this noble House is indeed originally from France. The oldest exponent of which we have memory is Ugo Rovello, the nineteenth Grand Master of the sacred Jerusalem religion. His election took place in 1260 in the city of Ptolemais; he was originally from the province of Dauphiné. Knight of great eloquence and with a great heart, he governed his Religion with singular prudence and, after having celebrated five General Chapters in it, passed on to enjoy the reward of his glories in heaven in 1278. It was therefore his descendants who moved to Genoa where they appear to be present as silk workers since the 14th century.
