Antica ed assai nobile famiglia emiliana, con residenza nella città di Modena, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Conosciuta come Rozzi o Rozza, la famiglia risulta tra le nobili della sua patria sin dal 1534 e i suoi membri si sono sempre distinti nell'esercizio del notariato e dell'avvocatura. La casata ha diramato in diverse città d'Italia, ove il suo cognome fu talvolta trascritto come Rozza e talvolta come Rozzi o Rozze. Troviamo i nobili Rozzi, o Rozza, insediati in Campli sin dal XVI secolo, ove sono ricordati tra i più nobili della città. Parimenti in Civitanova Marche un ramo di tal importante prosapia fiorì nobilmente ed in tal nobiltà fu confermata nel 1829, nella persona di Antonio.
