Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Campli ivi insediatasi agli albori del XVI secolo, ossia all'epoca di Madama Margarita d'Austria, figlia dell'imperatore Carlo V d'Asburgo e moglie di Ottavio Farnese, duchessa di Parma e Signora di altri centri italiani, portati in dote, tra i quali Campli; difatti il cognome Rozzi o Ruozzi sembra abbia origini nel parmense. A rendere maggior lustro alla casata è stato un matrimonio celebrato nel 1845 tra Francesco R. e Eleonora Ranalli del ramo dei Cornacchia, illustre e baronale famiglia civitellese. all’epoca di Madama Margherita d’Austria e della feudalità dei Farnese di Parma e Piacenza. Alla famiglia, come ben giusta il parroco don Antonio Mazzitti, una antica cappella presente nella trecentesca Cattedrale di Campli, detta anche Collegiata di Santa Maria in Platea. Ma, d'altronde, tal famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che resero illustre il suo nome,
