Carlo Giuseppe di Aurelio Alessandro Nozzolini ottenne con decreto del 17 luglio 1840 di essere iscritto alla Nobiltà di Fiesole insieme con la moglie donna Dorotea di Teodoro Sciulghiuski e coi figli Maria, Alessandro, Tito e Sofia. Egli provò di avere ottenuta la cittadinanza livornese ed allegò documenti dai quali appare che fino dal secolo XVI la famiglia Nozzolini godè dei primi onori in Pisa risultando che in quel tempo furono estratti per il magistrato dei Priori Annibale e Giuseppe di Bartolomeo, signori di Valicandri e Nozzole. Altri pure furono chiamati ad importanti uffici pubblici. Tolomeo di Ercole Nozzolini fu nell'Università di Pisa, collega di Galileo, col quale ebbe caldissime controversie in materia di geometria,. Compose 5 poemi, fra i quali il più noto è " La Sardegna recuperata". Insegnò Etica e Logica per trent'anni, dopo di che si ritirò a Fiesole nella villa detta Nozzole dove morì di 74
