Ancienne et très noble famille toscane, avec résidence à Florence (Santa Maria Novella, Lion Bianco), connue sous le nom de Ruberti ou Ruberto, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et d'Europe. La noblesse évidente de la famille est confirmée par sa présence dans le précieux ouvrage "Collezione Ceramelli Papiani", du comte Enrico Ceramelli Papiani (Colle Val d'Elsa, 1896 - Florence, 1976), héraldiste renommé, qui est conservé dans l'État Archives de Florence, où elle est arrivée pour la donation faite en 1974. D'autre part, cette famille, au fil des décennies, a toujours réussi à produire une série d'hommes qui ont rendu son nom célèbre, dans la fonction publique, dans le professions libérales et ecclésiastiques et dans le service militaire.
