Famiglia di origini Asisane, goderono nella lor Patria tutti i magistrati, come se ne vede la memoria scolpita in un marmo, che sta affisso nella Chiesa Maggiore sotterranea d'Asisi sotto il Pulpito di que Ner. Capidia, figliuolo di C. Ruffu; ma partitasi poi di Asisi, e andata a Roma, fu chiamata Minuzia Ruffu, ed in processo di tempo godendo il Consolato Romano, lasciò il prenome di Minuzio, riservadosi solo il cognome di Ruffu; della qual famiglia se ne sparsero i semi nel Regno di Napoli, dove sempre ritennero i primi gradi; ed il Tar. allib. 25.ne fa di ciò testimonianza, e mostra di questa una lunga serie di Consoli; ma non avendo altre cognizioni, ne lascio il giudizio al lettore.
