Le fonti storiche attestano che i membri della famiglia Ruggeri, sono di antichissima origine normanna e, che feudatari fino dal XIII secolo. Cristoforo Ruggeri era canonico di San Pietro in Roma, nel 1461, e scrittore apostolico. Giovanni Ruggeri, fu maresciallo in Roma per il Re Carlo I. Giulio Ruggeri, fu nunzio del Pontefice Pio V presso Sigismondo Re di Polonia nel 1570. Un ramo della Casata possedette il feudo di Cesana, con titolo comitale. Altro ramo. Famiglia nobile di Lendinara, che si presume di origine napoletana. Avendo acquistato alcuni carati della contea e giurisdizione di Cesana, ne fu investita con titolo comitale. Ottenne conferma della nobiltà con S. R. del 20 maggio 1829. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiana coi titoli di nobile (nobiltà di Lendinara) (mf.) e conte (m.). Altro ramo. Antica famiglia ascritta fra le nobili verso la fine del XVI secolo, ma non compresa nella Bolla Benedettina. Il cavaliere Jacovacci ci ha lasciato memorie dei seguenti personaggi: 1403 Testamentum Domini Joannis de Rogerijs de regione Pineae de anno 1403 die 10 octobris. Ludovicus Blanchi civis Rom. notarius - 1416 Nobilis Vir Cecchus Antonius Jacobi Joannis Juliani de Rogerijs de regione Pinae - 1461 Dom. Christophorus de Rogerijs Canonicus Basilicae S. Petri, et scriptor Apostolicus (sepultus in Ecclesia S. Luciae delle Pontiche) - 1472 Antonius Jacobj de Rogerijs de regione Pineae - 1492 Franciscus quondam Jacobj de Rogerijs - 1520 Honorratus et Antonius de Rogerijs - 1524 Nicolaus de Rogerijs Aromatarius in Campo Florae - 1542 Dom. Silvius de Rogeriis - 1586 Ill. Dom. Pompeus Rogerius nobilis Romanus.
