Trae questa Famiglia, anticamente denominata Rustichelli, la sua origine dalla Toscana dove al tempo che fioriva la repubblica Fiorentina ebbe gradi ed onori distinti, contando varii Priori della Repubblica uno dei quali, di nome Giovanni, fu nel 1317 eletto Gonfaloniere di Giustizia, dignità Suprema di quella Repubblica. In causa delle turbolenze trapiantò il suo domicilio nello Stato Veneto, e dietro prove statutarie fu ascritta alla cittadinanza Veneta. Avendo infeudati alcuni beni posti in villa di Campo Croce ottenne nel 1780 dal Senato Veneto il totolo di Conte. Nel 1781 fu ascritta al Consiglio nobile di Ceneda e nel 1802 a quello di Treviso. Fu confermata nobile con Sovrana Risoluzione 8 luglio 1820. Si ricordano: Giovanni Antonio del fu conte Lorenzo che fu Savio Minicipale; Giovanni Francesco del fu conte Lorenzo che fu Provveditore della città di Teviso, poi Savio Municipale.
