Trae la sua origine dalla Toscana, dove al tempo della Repubblica fiorentina ebbe gradi ed onori distinti, contando vari priori ed un gonfaloniere di giustizia nella persona di Giovanni eletto nel 1317. In causa delle civili discordie si trapiantò nello stato veneto e fu ascritta a quella cittadinanza. Avendo infeudati alcuni beni posti in villa di Campo Croce, ottenne nel 1780 dal senato veneto il titolo di conte. Nel 1781 fu ascritta al Consiglio nobile di Ceneda, e nel 1802 a quello di Treviso. Fu confermata nobile con sovrana risoluzione 8 Luglio 1820. Altro ramo. Famiglia nobile e antica, originaria di Montasigo, à dato alla patria un anziano nella persona di Giovanni nel 1275 e 1289.
