Nelle concessioni nobiliari trascritte nei Registri Privilegiorum del collaterale, detti "Nuovi", il magnifico Filippo SCHISANI della città di Taverna, il 17 febbraio 1497, aveva conferma di privilegio di familiarità ed esenzione fiscale con i suoi eredi e successori da re Ferdinando II d'Aragona. Di origine calabresi, godette nobiltà in Taverna e fu ascritta al primo Ordine civile della città di Monteleone. Fu ricevuta, per giustizia, nel S. M. O. di Malta nel 1795, in persona del cav. Vincenzo. Fu riconosciuta di antica nobiltà nelle prove di ammissione delle Regie Guardie del Corpo, nel 1856 ed ascritta al Registro dei cavalieri di Malta per giustizia. Per successione della famiglia Calà, non legalmente riconosciuta, avrebbe avuto diritto di titolo di duca di Diano con l'anzianità della concessione ottenuta da Carlo Calà Ossorio, con diploma dato a Madrid il 7 luglio 1645, esecutoriato in Napoli il 20 nov. dello stesso anno.
