Famiglia originaria di Gualdo Tadino, dove si trova godere nobiltà nel secolo XVIII. Un Francesco, ebbe la Nobiltà di Nocera Umbra (1782) e di Trevi (1788). Trasportata la sua dimora a Fabriano da Giuseppe, questi fu aggregato a quella Nobiltà nel 1830. Il medesimo ottenne per se' e per la sua discendenza in linea primogenita maschile il titolo di Conte. La Consulta Araldica (vedi Elenco Nobiliare Ufficiale 1908 e 1922) dichiarò spettare a questa famiglia i seguenti titoli: Nobile di Gualdo Tadino (mf.), Nobile di Nocera Umbra (mf.), Nobile di Trevi (mf), Nobile di Fabriano (mf.), Conte (mpr). Altro ramo. La famiglia Sabri, appartenente all'antico patriziato Ravennate, fu costretta ad esulare dalla patria nel 1522 per aver preso le parti del cugino Ostasio Rasponi, nei conflitti che condussero all'eccidio dei Savi, e si rifugiò nel Montefeltro, dove venne accolta dai Fregoso, Marchesi di S. Agata, coi quali contrasse parentela.
