Originaria di Alessandria della Paglia, fu trapiantata in Viterbo nel 1297 da un Gian-Giacomo chiamatovi dal pontefice Bonifacio VIII in qualità di tesoriere del patrimonio di S. Pietro, il qule nel 1300 fu dal Consiglio generale delle città ascritto alla cittadinanza viterbese. Nel 1302 papa Benedetto XI lo confermò nella carica di tesoriere, nel 1307 il Legato pontificio in Roma lo mandò a governare per la Chiesa la città di Spoleto, e nel 1315 fu dal Consiglio inviato commissario a Montefiascone per frenare gli eccessi della soldatesca viterberse che in quell'anno aveva saccheggiato e malmenato quella città. Pier-Giovan-Paolo, suo figlio, nel 1344 fu nominato uno dei priori della città, e l'anno seguente gli fu conferita la soprintendenza alle fortificazioni e munizioni della stessa con autorità di comando su tutte le terre della provincia.
