Excellente chevalerie relatée depuis Pierre chevalier en 1300. Elle compte parmi ses membres les barons de Beaufort-Chapdes près Pontgibaud, de Fougeroux, de Fraisse, de Trussy, du Bouchet, de Blet, etc. Gauvain de Saint Quintin vivait en 1326. Autre Pierre épousa en 1395, Marguerite de Beaufort, héritière de la noble maison de Beaufort, qui avait fondé en 1147 la chartreuse du Port-Ste-Marie. Roger fut inscrit à l'armorial de 1450. Plusieurs chanoines-comtes de Brioude (1456-1577); un chambellan du comte de Montpensier dauphin d'Auvergne (1488); Claude devint capitaine de cent gentilshommes de la maison du Roi (1569); un capitaine lieutenant de la Chevalerie du Prince de Condé mort en 1621; nombreux autres officiers, chevaliers de St-Louis; un maréchal de camp mort en 1748, etc. Maintenue dans sa noblesse le 4 décembre 1666. Branche très distinguée en Bourbonnais et Berry des comtes de Blet. Très belles alliances.
