An Arcadio Salamone passed to Sicily following Federico II, in 1296, and there he established his family. A Rinaldo and Beatrice Salamone founded the abbey of Farinato in 1378, now known as Soccorso. Felice Salamone, as the firstborn son of Rainaldo Salamone, was invested on 2 January 1783 with the Salinella fief. Maria-Viola Speciale and Salamone was recognized in the title of Baron of Salinella on September 4, 1883, with Decr.
