Famiglia nobile ed illustre originaria di Catalogna e di Aragona, come riferisce Mugnos; perocchè un Guerao e Bundo da San Minat furono signori della villa di San Minat sotto Carlomagno imp. Un Calcerano del San Minat nell'accompagnare il re Pietro d'Aragona la portò in Sicilia, dal quale ottenne in compenso di militari servigi la castellania di Licata con civile criminale giurisdizione. Da lui una serie di distinti personaggi che possedettero il feudo di Raglamalima e Sabuci, la baronia di Tripi, e la terra e castello di Palagonia. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali,
