Esta familia es originaria de Pietro, un caballero normando que vino al reino de Nápoles siguiendo las armas de Roberto Guiscardo, a quien le otorgó el castillo de S. Felice (1018) del cual la familia toma su nombre. Dicho castillo en Terra di Lavoro, luego perteneció con Piatravairano a la casa Grimaldi: la familia fue recibida en el SMO de Malta en 1583 con un Horacio (Arch. O. Malta, proc. 4796); con Giuseppe el 25 de septiembre de 1626 (Arch. Stato di Napoli, vol. 31, Priorato de Barletta); y con otro Giuseppe el 15 de mayo de 1652 (Gr. Magisterio Roma 217, Priorato de Nápoles) y en la Orden de España en 1544. Los miembros de esta familia disfrutaron de la nobleza en Nápoles, en la sede de Montagna, en Cosenza, qué rama se extinguió en Cilento, Perugia y Francia, donde una rama vivió en 1650.
