Antigua familia veneciana de la Orden de Secretarios y que ocupaban cargos reservados para esa Orden distinta. Una rama de la familia fue agregada al noble Consejo de Padua en 1762 y con Ducal Pietro Grimani el 16 de mayo de 1744 se crearon cuentas venecianas, título reconocido con Resolución Soberana el 29 de diciembre de 1846. La familia está registrada en la Lista Oficial Noble Italiana con los títulos de conde (m.), noble (mf.), en la persona de Giuseppe Alessandro, Giuseppe Enrico, Andrea; Monseñor. Hermano: Alberto Marco, de Andrea. Otra rama Antigua y noble familia Veronese, de la cual un Nicolò fue progenitor en 1337. Una rama trasplantada a Padua, a cuyo noble Consejo se unió en 1772, y otra en Venecia. Con el ducal de Doge Pietro Grimani de 1744, los Sanfermo fueron creados condes venecianos, en cuyo título fueron reconocidos con resolución soberana el 11 de octubre

Troncato: sopra ritroncato: nel primo d'azzurro alla cometa d'oro accompagnata in capo dalla mezzaluna montante d'argento ed ai fianchi da due stelle di sei raggi d'oro; nel secondo scaccato di rosso e d'oro; sotto inquartato: nel primo d'argento all'aquila di nero, rostrata, membrata e coronata d'oro; nel secondo d'azzurro all'aquila di nero, rostrata, membrata e coronata d'oro; nel terzo palato d'oro e d'argento; nel quarto d'azzurro ad un muro merlato d'argento aperto da una parte di nero e cimato da una torre pure d'argento, finestrata di nero, il tutto fondato nel terreno di verde, la torre sostenuta da due leoni d'argento affrontati, moventi dal muro, ed accompagnata nel canton destro del capo da due stelle di sei raggi d'oro.
